Before you blame the NSAIDS, remember acute renal failure can happen secondary to many causes, including something as simple as severe dehydration.
You need to consult a rheumatologist, now that your Dad has a more complicated medical picture.

my dad had Chronic Acute Renal Failure about 2 mnth ago and doctor put him on morphine patches for his knees
you can take aleve or ibuprofen. they even have arthritus ibuprofen
