Bulimia is ALWAYS serious, pleease get yourself some help ASAP!!!
Well, it’s not like there is a bad bulimia and a worse bulimia. If you have it, then you should be admitted in one.
I don’t know the correct medical answer, but in my opinion,as soon as someone starts with an eating disorder, they should get help right away.
I guess, usually, your doctor or a family member (if you don’t admit yourself) will request you to be admitted once they notice the signs.
You’ve spent 2 years damaging your body,i think thats enough.
Getting admitted into a rehab for a variety of conditions is not usually the first step taken, however serious the problem may be. For rehab to be successful, there has to be a considered opinion that the treatment will be successful, and that other (and cheaper) options, such as accessing counselling or therapy outside rehab, have been given a chance to work. A referral isn’t always made even in the case of people who really need that level of support, sometimes because the person has ‘failed to engage’ with support services on offer. Most rehab treatments cost at least £1000 a week, so unfortunately the economic consideration gets weighed in in the decision making process.
Have you started to talk to any professional people for advice on this matter? Your GP, and advisory services (including Childline for younger people – 0800 1111) should be a first step.
