    Hi Glenn

To be more precise there are a whole load of questions that need to be answered. Have you ever injured you low back or legs? How long does it take for the pain to start and how long to ease? Are the symptoms on both sides? Is it worse at any particular time of day or just when you exercise/stand? What sort of job do you have? Are you often sitting or do you do alot of bending and lifting? Do you have any abdominal problems (bowels/waterworks)?

There are many different things that could be causing your symptoms. If you have low back pain associated with leg pain the first thing to rule out is possible nerve nipping. If you are getting pins and needles or numbness or weakness in the leg this could confirm this although these are not always present.

If the symptoms don’t improve or especially if they get worse then you should get checked up by your GP. Once he has checked you out the an osteopath or physiotherapist should be able to advise you more precisely.

    Hope this helps

I’m not a doc but i thought this may help.
    Some causes:……
Small fractures to the spine from osteoporosis
Muscle spasm (very tense muscles that remain contracted)
    Ruptured or herniated disk
    Degeneration of the disks
    Poor alignment of the vertebrae
Spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal)
Strain or tears to the muscles or ligaments supporting the back
Spine curvatures (like scoliosis or kyphosis) which may be inherited and seen in children or teens
    Other medical conditions like fibromyalgia

Call the doctor and don’t ask questions on the internet IF..

The main reason to get lower back ache is that you are not doing much walking hip rotation .Generally back aches do come for people who lead a sedentary life and or over strain themselves by lifting heavy items. It could be also the pressure on the sciatic nerve due to wearing tight clothing.
Apart from the above situation ,there is another possibility if your diet has been changed and there is gas in your stomach.
To get rid of the pain you have to make sure that you are sleeping on a level hard surface and without an pillow, this position in yoga is called sheva aasanna (a dead mans position) lay like that for 10 to 15 minutes a day and you will be rid of the pain.Wishing you a fast recovery from the back aches.

Have you ever been diagnosed with scoliosis? Your problems sound similar in nature to my own, and I’ve had scoliosis since I was about 7 or 8. It’s getting worse as I grow older and it causes me pain and muscle spasms in muscles/joints that are not connected to my spine due to alignment issues. If you’ve never considered this option, ask your dr. to just look and your spine while your are in a forward bent position and it can be diagnosed just by seeing a slight curvature in your spine.
