How can vocational rehab work for someone with mental disability?

My friend went through vocational rehab. He became a lab assistant. You can learn a trade that is right for you. I think you should ask for a cerificate program.

Usually with vocational rehab offices what they will do is bring you in for a meeting and assess your skills. Once they have had a chance to assess your skills, strengths, and interests, then they are able to find an area that you would be able to successfully work in, and be allow to progress real high.

If you’re offered vocational rehabilitation, take it. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you. Ask for something that interests you and you think you’d be able to do.

They can help tailor your job to your abilities and help with training.
