Talk to you physio people – explain that it hurts and ask if you are doing it right. Maybe you are stretching a little too far, maybe the muscles need to be relaxed first.

Both are painful areas to work on and you probably need to take it a little easier – I’ve found slow and easy usually does the trick – but do ask your physio for advice – that’s what they are there for – to help you.
Yes. Excessive pain indicates you may be doing more harm than good. Do not continue the exercise until you review it with your therapist.
