But it has improved some. If it wasn’t going to improve anymore they wouldn’t keep on with it.
Just tell them – it’s your body, and your right to make that decision. Sounds like you have given it a fair go anyway…
be honest tell them what you have just listed you will be fine
It may not have improved significantly in 7 years, but what would it be like now if you HADNT done any physio? your movement and function could have deteriorated terribly
Sit with them tell them this , ur new scans showed no significant imrpovement u’ve been doing this 4 the last 7 years u think that the time has come to stop it, surely they love u , they want to hold to the slightest hope , but it’s ur body
Doctors are not sadists, so it’s my guess you need it. Have you spoken to your consultant about this, as I’m sure he or she would tell you the pitfalls in not continuing. After 7 years I would of had enough, but I would check it out first before I told my family.
Just do it.
It’s your choice and your body. As long as you are over the age of consent you should be able to choose to have or not to have treatment.
Stand tall on your one good foot and put it down. Seven years is proof enough that this is not working.
Is the physio hard to keep going with? If so, then stop, because it’s probably not worse the advance. But if you can handle it, then I’d suggest you’d keep going.
Try sitting them down and asking them to be quiet whilst you explain why you’re stopping. Then when you’ve finished, answer any questions they have. It worked for my uncle, and he had worse news to give.
Why do you need to tell your family? I presume you are an adult so you make the decision but I would like to think you talked about it to your doctor, consultant or whatever before just stopping. That’s more importand than worrying about telling your family surely?
geting both legs amputated would sort of be a polite sign.
see if your therapist will agree with you
