There are much better pain killers out there. For migraine you can’t beat Imigran injections. Nurofen is no good at all for migraine.

We should not be giving medical advice really.

Sometimes just sitting relaxes me. Take a tyleonel and just breathe. They dont last forever… they just seem to. Saying a prayer helps sometimes too.

I don’t know how scientific or coincidental this is, but I used to have lots of migraines when I was in my teens. Before they happened I sometimes even lost my sight. I had to analyse what food I ate leading up to each headache, and found bananas to be a common factor. I stopped eating them and the headaches stopped. I haven’t had one since, that’s 15 years ago. Your GP should be able to prescribe stronger painkillers and give the best long term advice.

    Good luck.

Hello mate, I suffer migraines regular too. Sometimes its best to get at least 10 hours of sleep for a decent heal in the mind.

Headaches are caused by tension in the brain.
I suggest you take a Paracetamol which you can buy at your local pharmacy, taking one of these should cure a migraine or headache.

Paracetamol will also cure sickness and any other pains in the body, I’m sure you know this anyway.

Also maybe water? you may be dehydrated and your body may need more water.

Maybe stress? if you are having a lot of stress, calm your self down, it can increase your blood pressure.

If you do have regular problems though, i suggest you see a doctor. He/She give you a solution.

Best solution for having a migraine: Never be in the sun, worst thing yet to heal a migraine, loud noises don’t help either.

    Good luck dude!

It depends on the cause. Ask your GP about it, there are some really effective treatments. I find if I keep myself adequately hydrated, I rarely have the searing migraines I used to suffer from. It’s just good old water, the all round health improver!

well, try some ice on your head. try not to tlak that much cus it moves your muscles and sometimes it hurts when you do that and you have a migrane. just settle down and watch some low volume t.v. When you go to bed, ( if the migrane is still there ) then get REALLY warm. keep a glass of cool wtare by your bedside so that you dont over heat. make sure to drink fuids. pleanty of fluids. NO MILK! And also try eating bananas. it takes your mind off the pain for a little bit.

put lavender inside your pillowcase, it really works, or the spray version works just as well. dont know how but its good. have you tried the forhead stuff its like a stick and you rub it across your forehead and it really does work. plus i was told to drink plenty of water.

I suffer from migraines too Generally you can feel one coming on and I always have an espresso coffee If you wake up with it there’s nothing you can do except wait for the next day and sleep as much as you can If you want to take something try migraleve Hope that helps

Get your blood pressure checked! I used to suffer from
severe headaches until I was diagnosed as hypertensive.
Since getting it under control I rarely get them now.
Also too much time at a computer can cause them, take a ten
Min’s break every hour. Have you eyes checked as eyestrain
    can also cause headaches.
    Good luck.

when i get a headache, ibuprofen/paracetamol don’t work, let alone a migraine! try co-codamol (same as migralieve but cheaper) if you haven’t already – they have codeine in. go to the doctors and get something prescribed – my mum got some tablets a few years back, quite strong (1 in 24 hours) but it got rid of migraines. but yeah, could be a food sensitivity (my friend had constant migraines till she cut out wheat), stress, not enough water, or just prone to them.

God, I know exactly how you feel – I have just had a mammoth migrane – had two days off work.

You can get medication for migrane. My next plan is to keep a headache diary – then, after a while I shall go to my GP and get some advice. Try Migraleve – you can get it from Boots – apparently some doctors recommend it too.

Also, try putting a cold towel over your head – I did this last night and by the morning, my headache was gone!

If nothing else works, try to stretch you face muscles and jaw with exercise. I find the headache goes almost straight away after face exercises.

Ok in general headaches the best cure is drink water as a headache can be the first sign of dehydration. I suffered from migraines and nothing really worked for me and now I don’t really suffer anymore, they just take me by surprise once in a blue moon.

You can get a tablet called migraleve, something like that, tiny little pill that worked for me and I don’t get migraines any more.

I wish you luck as I know how debilitating they can be.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
    Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

Ah, I know exactly how you feel! Migraines ****. There are loads of things you can try though – but go talk to your doctor because a lot of it is prescription only and also you should check there isn’t an underlying cause like I dunno diabetes or something.

Here are some of the ones I’ve tried:

    - Triptans (which are migraine-specific)
    - stronger painkillers
    - vitamins and minerals like B2, magnesium, hormone supplements, etc
    - preventative medication eg beta-blockers

Hope you find something that works!
