I’d say it is yeah, And based only on what I’ve seen with friends who are junkies, quite a few slip up after they leave, so I’d say a large percentage end up at least trying it a few more times thereafter.

its not very high, but some of them do, aparently alcohol is harder to give up, it all depeneds on how much they want to quit, not for parole or something

It’s quite low. We are all aware of the thoughts of they brought it upon themselves so why should we care. Part of the challenge is that many relapse maybe several times. Thankfully I have had no experience of these problems, but reading around it the impression I have gained is that although the addict is clear when they leave rehab the underlying psychological problems are still there and last for several months afterwards. Clinical Depression being just one of them. This means that rehab is only part of the need psychological back up on a very regular basis for months afterwards

no……Heroin is not the hardest drug to get past. Cocaine is the worst. The craving for heoin, actually goes away…mentally one might crave the shelter of heoin for a long time, but the phsycal need is gone after a couple of weeks. Cocaine, on the other hand, radically changes the brain chemistry…sometimes, to the point of no repair. The phsycal craving for cocaine can last up to a year or more…and the person might never be quite over the craving. Herion is a pain killer, it kills emotions that are painful very well. It is much easier to take heroin, than it is to find out why we are so painfully unhappy. Alot of our brave soldiers, become herion addicts for a different reason…..injury….morphine and heroin are about the same…come from the same source……

all drugs are hard to give up,but the two which take the longest, have the most severe withdrawal symptoms and are potentially life threatening are alcohol and benzodiazepines which include drugs such as valium and temazapam.withdrawing from heroin wont kill you and the withdrawal symptoms are similar to a bad case of flu.
as for the percentage of heroin addicts that leave rehab and stay clean depends on whos figures, agencies, government statistics and surveys you want to believe, but from my experience the true figure wud be very low.almost certainly no more than ten percent.
